Primary Teacher -  PreSchool Program (ages 2 years 9 months to 6 years)

At Sprouts Montessori, we are committed to nurturing confident, capable, and compassionate children in partnership with their families. As our school continues to grow, we are seeking dedicated educators who are passionate about authentic Montessori education and want to be part of a supportive, collaborative school community.

We believe great teachers are the heart of a strong Montessori program. Our educators are supported with a positive work environment, predictable daily planning time, and access to a dedicated, fully equipped staff workroom with the materials needed to prepare meaningful lessons and activities. We strive to give our teachers the time, tools, and support they need to focus on guiding children, building strong relationships, and making a lasting impact.

We are currently seeking a Montessori Certified Lead Teacher for children ages 2 years 9 months to 6 years. This is a school-year position beginning approximately in the last two weeks of August and continuing through the third week of June, following a 10-month schedule. Summer employment is optional.

Lead Teacher Responsibilities

The Lead Teacher will be responsible for creating and maintaining a warm, organized, and engaging Montessori classroom environment. Responsibilities include:

  • Planning lessons and providing individualized Montessori lessons to children ages 2 years 9 months to 6 years

  • Observing, documenting, and tracking student progress using school technology

  • Supporting each child’s growth and learning at their own pace

  • Encouraging independence, curiosity, respect, responsibility, and confidence

  • Supervising lunch, playground, and classroom activities while ensuring children are safe, engaged, and supported

  • Building strong partnerships with families and communicating in alignment with Montessori philosophy and each family’s values

  • Collaborating with assistant teachers, program supervisors, and school leadership

  • Contributing ideas during staff meetings and professional discussions

  • Participating in school events and community outreach activities

  • Helping maintain a peaceful, respectful, and well-prepared classroom environment

Required Qualifications & Skills

Qualified candidates should have:

  • Minimum of 2 years of experience as a Lead Montessori Teacher in an early childhood classroom

  • Montessori Certification from AMS, AMI, or a MACTE-accredited program

  • Strong understanding of Montessori philosophy, classroom practices, and child development

  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills

  • Strong computer and technology skills

  • Ability to build positive relationships with children, families, and colleagues

  • Strong classroom management skills

  • Effective time management and organizational skills

  • Ability to work collaboratively with assistant teachers and other staff members

  • Strong math skills

  • Current First Aid, CPR, and BBP certification or willingness to complete training
